In the unique premises of the Bea Centre in Olomouc, we have embarked on another major chapter of our story – the construction of new facilities for Maple Bear Elementary School Olomouc has officially begun.
With Maple Bear, we have been running a kindergarten here since 2024, and this year we also opened the first grade of the primary school. From the very beginning, we have placed great emphasis on an environment in which children feel good, safe and can fully concentrate on learning. As stated by our director Mgr. Lukáš Ondruch: “Children look forward to coming to school because they feel good here – and often they don’t even want to go home.”
The philosophy of all Maple Bear schools It builds on a passion for education, which also fosters a community-based, open and safe environment full of natural warmth. In addition to modern classrooms, modern classrooms, there is also a new canteen directly connected to the lobby and reception, as well as multipurpose area for the school’s social hub. An integral part of the campus is also an outdoor area intended both for play and for outdoor learning.
The design of the new classrooms and adjoining spaces has been entrusted to SOA architekti, an architectural studio specializing in educational buildings. , specialists in educational buildings. The studio regularly ranks at the top of architectural competitions and its reputation in the world of school architecture continues to grow. For Maple Bear, this is already the fourth joint project led by architects Ondřej Laciga and Petra Valdman, so we know we are in very good hands.
We also pay great attention to the school’s visual identity. We are collaborating on the graphic design with Studio Graphite, whose concepts are based on the unique integration of the Czech and Canadian educational programs. Our students are firmly rooted in the local environment while also gaining a global perspective – and that is exactly what we want the school to reflect and convey, both visually and emotionally.
The new elementary school facilities are expected to receive final approval during the summer holidays and be fully ready to welcome 1st and 2nd grade students 1. for the 2026/2027 school year.
