At Maple Bear Elementary and Nursery School Olomouc, we believe a school should never be an isolated island, but a vibrant community hub that inspires and connects families from across the region. That is why we are introducing a brand-new initiative this year: a series of educational lectures and hands-on workshops titled PARENT MASTERCLASS.
Why PARENT MASTERCLASS?
The mission of this series is to regularly address key topics in modern parenting and education, deliver evidence-based insights, and above all, provide actionable guidance with immediate practical value for everyday life.
- Regular schedule: Sessions will take place every two months, giving parents an ongoing opportunity to gain inspiration and connect with experts.
- Inspiring environment: All workshops will be held on the premises of our modern, newly opened elementary school at tř. Kosmonautů 1338/1e, Olomouc.
- Open to everyone: These events are not limited to our current school and kindergarten families. We warmly welcome the general public—parents of children of all ages, educators, and anyone interested in contemporary approaches to upbringing and education.
- Discussion and exchange: Each session pairs an expert presentation with an interactive workshop, always leaving plenty of room for your questions and personal consultations.
Season Premiere: Bilingual Education in Practice, Demystified
We are dedicating the opening workshop of this new series to the topic at the very core of our daily work at Maple Bear: bilingual education.
How does second-language acquisition actually work in young children in real life? What benefits does bilingualism bring to overall brain development and cognitive skills? And most importantly: how should you approach this at home as a parent, especially if you only speak Czech?
